Description

this is not a game for older gamers though as you can master it in a day and its very repetitive but for the youngsters its top notch. It was frustrating to be denied even the chance of some winnings but refreshing to be able to see it coming. In Hey Thats My Fish, each player takes control of a family of hungry penguins out to catch some fish. They then carefully take the hex/ice flow they moved from and remove it from the board, leaving a gap that no penguin can cross over.

A large variety of unlockable map levels that increase in difficulty and an optional turn-length time limit will have you constantly testing your skills. Now you must race across shrinking ice floes to retrieve as many fish as you can before the ice melts beneath your feet. If you’re ever cut off from the main board, you’ll gain the fish on the island of ice floes, but that penguin is out of the game.

There definitely is fun to be had with this app as a palette cleanser or as a warm up to a more tactical game as well as just something fun to introduce to your kids to get them started in the world of board gaming. The next pro is that the game has enough strategy and modularity that it has several metric tons of replayability. Playing against other seasoned board gamers can lead to some pretty interesting back and forth’s as you attempt to send your opponent’s penguin adrift on their own tiny iceberg island while you roam free snapping up all the fish on the mainland. Players then start the game by placing their colored penguins on ice floes containing only one fish until all penguins are on the board. The hexagon that the penguin started from is then removed from play, becoming the player's property.

Since you are removing hex tiles each turn - often from the middle of the board - the board gets bumped quite a bit.We had trouble setting up the game with loads of tiny hexagons fitted into a pattern and then the game play was far too simple and pointless. On each player's turn, the player moves one of his/her penguins in a straight line as far as he/she wishes, as long as there is a continuous line of vacant hexagons between the penguin's starting and destination hexagons. FFG are known for their bigger brand games such as Star Wars: X-Wing and LOTR: Journey to Middle-earth, so it’s not the kind of game you would expect them to publish.

They move these in straight lines, travelling as many tiles as they like, and pick up the tile they last stood on, claiming its fish as their own. You can play with up to 4 human players on one device or against up to 3 AI ranging from easy to hard. The chosen penguin can move in any of the six directions of its ice floe tile and must move in a straight line.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. When I was first introduced to this game, my friend Steve described it as the most ruthless game he had ever played.

Your job seems simple: race across a random arrangement of icy fish deposits with a colony of up to four penguins, as you attempt to seize the most fish. With randomized maps created every game, your penguins can waddle across perpetually new Antarctic terrain in their quest for a tasty dinner. Like you said, the cutesy nature of the pieces and artwork is a disguise for a game that can be an amazing brain-burner.Each turn, a player moves one penguin in a straight line over ice tiles that contain one, two or three fish on them.
