They are hockey players in college who are forced to play alongside one another, which is proving quite difficult due to their intense animosity that originates from high school. They both had that enemies tone in their voice which helped build up the story in the audio so freaking well! Some points/aspects I disliked from the story are a few and to be honest, I may sound petty but wanted this to be better than it was, after reading all those 5 and 4 stars 🌟 reviews. Just like I know it’s a problem for me to be seeing him in a completely different light than I was a couple months ago.

I am genuinely pleased that I opted for a second reading, as it granted me a deeper appreciation for the characters and their journeys. Overall, this was an enjoyable book, but I probably won’t prioritize the next book in the series on my TBR (unless it’s the roommate’s book). You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. The dynamic between Oak and Quinn, which commenced with enmity, gradually evolved into a charged undercurrent of sexual tension that grew increasingly palpable. Tensions are high with this constant losing streak they have going on and when Quinton's career in hockey is put on the line, he becomes almost unbearable, and Oakley is getting sick of it. So as they find a reason to spend more time together and are forced to get to know each other, their connection isn’t only in the bedroom. I never imagined that drive would lead me to do the unthinkable: falling into bed with my not-so-straight rival.

Iced Out is the first in a five book stand-alone college sports romance series featuring two misunderstood rival teammates, snarky banter, and more secret spicy times than any audiobook should be filled with. Iced Out tells the story of rival ice hockey players, Oakley Reed and Quinton De Haas as they're forced to play on the same team. i probably shouldn't have hopes for the future books in the series, but some characters caught my attention and i'm curious to see how Holden's story will go. The pinch between his brows is kind of cute, and it takes a good amount of self-control—an amount I didn’t know I possessed—to keep my thumb from smoothing it back night at a party, they see each other and start bickering which leads to taunting each other about who’d be better in bed which leads to quinn dragging oak into a bathroom to prove him wrong. I picked this up because I was really in the mood for M/M and it definitely scratched that itch for me. The ending, again like other books I have read recently, was rushed and boring; I wanted something more believable and less hallmark.
