I can't say I understand everything perfectly, but Bryson explains it all well enough and it's never tedious.

I read the original book more than 10 years ago ( A Short History of Nearly Everything), since then I've praised it endlessly and often referred to it as one of my favorite books.Curiously, this little wonder does leave you feeling that one person truly can make a difference -- whether for good or evil. The value in this book is its survey of earth’s history (as a planet within the Milky Way) and humankind’s scientific advancements as well as the people responsible. Other travel books include the massive bestseller Notes From a Small Island, which won the 2003 World Book Day National Poll to find the book which best represented modern England, followed by A Walk in the Woods (in which Stephen Katz, his travel companion from Neither Here Nor There, made a welcome reappearance), Notes From a Big Country and Down Under. P62 ‘Radioactivity is so harmful and long-lasting that even now Marie Curie’s papers are too dangerous to handle.

Rather, space curves in a way which allows it to have no actual edge or boundary, but at the same time allows it to be finite” Words do that as they can bring us to places that we can’t imagine imagining. Some of it was, of course, and even if some things were vaguely familiar, I've never fully understood them, so it was good to have a simple, concise introduction to them.

Furthermore, he discusses the possibility of the Earth being struck by a meteorite and reflects on human capabilities of spotting a meteor before it impacts the Earth, and the extensive damage that such an event would cause. Bryson presents information in a way that is understandable, giving children a real opportunity to grasp some of the more difficult scientific concepts.

In the article concerning global warming, Bryson paints a picture that we really don't know if the Earth is warming up and if so, what is causing it. It's a bunch of short writings on different topics (how the universe formed, how we know the weight of the earth, etc.Uncover the mysteries of time, space and life on earth in this extraordinary book - a journey from the centre of the planet, to the dawn of the dinosaurs, and everything in between.
