The artwork for the book is beautiful, with an iconic white Abbey Road Studios wall autographed by some of the famous names who have recorded there. David Hepworth will be speaking about the history of Abbey Road recording studio as part of Chipping Campden Literature Festival on May 26 at Cidermill Theatre: campdenmayfestivals.

Abbey Road: The Inside Story of the World's Most Famous Recording Studios is a book which fills a gap in the market. You will come away dazzled by all of the dots Hepworth connects behind the scenes here, in what in many ways is the soundtrack of our lives. In 1976, studio head Ken Townsend boldly recast the facilities as Abbey Road Studios in keeping both with the building's famous address and the album — and its legend-making cover photo — that punctuated the Beatles' spectacular career.I don't have a huge interest in which exact machine was used for what sound in what year on whatever record. He was involved in the launch and editing of magazines such as Smash Hits, Q, Mojo and The Word, among many others. On the management side of the industry, the book has much to say about George Martin, the producer, instrumentalist, and mentor to the Fab Four. David Hepworth skriver som vanlig med stort hjerte for musikken og menneskene, med gripende formuleringer og mange tiår med innsikt i populærmusikkens vesen. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (1967) and Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon" (1973) engineered and produced in its environs, EMI Studios had already cemented itself as a historical landmark of sorts.

Does get a little technical at times, but the story of the music and artistes takes the reader on quite a journey. From film scores for 'Star Wars' and 'Harry Potter,' to jazz legend Shirley Bassey, and Pink Floyd's 'Dark Side Of the Moon, ' the studio has been home to seminal recordings. For anyone, like myself, who has been endlessly fascinated by the great studio, this is probably its best ‘biography’ out there.Royal Mail stamps featuring the Beatles, January 8, 2007 at the Abbey Road Studios in London, United Kingdom. We get first hand accounts from engineers and producers to band members and just enough technical information. The narrative gets off to a good start with Anderson’s nostalgic memories of her childhood in coastal Vancouver, raised by very young, very wild, and not very competent parents.

These adverts enable local businesses to get in front of their target audience – the local community. Another classical pianist, Artur Schnabel, fretted that records meant performances might be listened to by the wrong sort of people. Encounters with a variety of hardworking dancers, drag queens, and pimps, plus an account of the complexities of a first love with a drug-addled hustler, fill out the memoir with personality and candor.

Always intrigued when one landmark can pull in greatness from all corners of the world, this book captures everything from the artists themselves to the engineers and the groundbreaking discoveries. German pianist Hans von Bülow fainted on hearing the playback of his own performance of a Chopin mazurka. But I will say this: one of the fascinating side-effects of the story of Abbey Road is how it helped narrow the gap – once the size of the Great Rift Valley – between classical and pop/rock. Pleased to see that the paperback of my book about Abbey Road Studios is out under the sign of the Penguin.

There is something in that version that you’ll never hear in anybody else’s – and there are millions of versions – but none of them sound like that one.It is important that we continue to promote these adverts as our local businesses need as much support as possible during these challenging times. But in his book, Abbey Road: the Inside Story of the World’s Most Famous Recording Studio, details such as this turn into the most fabulous of anecdotes.
