Bloodsport is more than just the sum of its pretty flimsy parts, not only remaining a solid debut for Van Damme, with some spectacular martial arts action, but also the birth of MMA, UFA and even Mortal Kombat. Hertzog's era-specific original score enjoys a much more substantial presence in the rear while not sounding overcooked. I’ve got this already from Capelight June release, note that the booklet text is in German, not sure if they have changed this for the 12th August release. Finally at long last easily van damme best film, I've begged and pleaded for this to come on steelbook long before I stopped collecting them an now it has, I'm really surprised it hasnt sold out while I'm writing this, I would have bought 10 copies myself cos love film that much but 35 a pop no chance. Their Ultra HD Blu-ray delivers a frequently excellent 4K picture that's not without its limitations - partly the result of the original filming style.

For more about Bloodsport 4K and the Bloodsport 4K Blu-ray release, see Bloodsport 4K Blu-ray Review published by Randy Miller III on April 28, 2023 where this Blu-ray release scored 4. It's hardly going to be regarded as demo material, but it's easily the best the film has ever sounded. From these Future-paks I grabbed only the Wolf Ceek -one immediately, because it`s uncut and contains both parts. Jean-Claude Van Damme's breakthrough was this low budget live-action inspiration for Mortal Kombat - blisteringly basic but also remarkably effective. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. Capelight's excellent extras package translates over here too, with a whole host of extra features ported to the 4K disc proper, headlined by an Audio Commentary and including a number of great new interviews by the main production crew. die als "Komplett bezahlt" im System gespeichert ist, erhalten Sie Bonuspunkte im Wert der gesamten Bestellung.

It was pretty-much all a slow path downhill from there but, unlike most all of his peers, Van Damme was still invested in even the trash he had to participate in - the result being he's made a surprising number of genuinely watchable DTV efforts. So much of this looks so good, it's hard to really get hung up on what's likely mostly source limitations on a veritably low budget production.Still, it's hard to complain really as, for the most part, it looks pretty glorious for Van Damme's '88 breakthrough. new 2160p/HDR transfer, Atmos and theatrical audio tracks, exclusive new extras, and a remastered Blu-ray. There's some backstory that nobody cares about, ridiculous romance with a reporter, and friendship with fellow fighters - whilst Army CID Agents are trying to bring him back in - but it's mostly just padding to get you to the next round.

Capelight's UK release of their preceding German disc appears to be an almost exact port, with excellent 4K Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos giving the film a new lease of life, and leaving it looking and sounding better than ever before - and honestly better than any fan could have ever expected to see. Of course, Bloodsport is far more than just a flimsy, low budget martial arts flick made 35 years ago. The German release is pretty English friendly but you still get the German language on the menus and back of the packaging. Not sure why this movie hasn’t been released stateside, but this 4K release is everything I could ask for a movie of this age. that led to his later hiring for the film, watching an early cut, assigning different "themes" to specific characters, and much more.

Skin tones are rich and healthy, black levels rich and inky yet not smothering all that fabulous shadow detail, and the 4K presentation takes years off this now 35 year old flick, leaving the pain, almost comedic facial expression of Van Damme and antagonist Bolo Yeung looking clearer than ever. Blu-ray edition, which squeezed both this film and Timecop on a dual-layered disc via the outdated VC-1 codec.
