The book had a great storyline, it was romantic, super steamy, and I liked the fact that in this storyline the Mannford brothers were the “good” guys and Winston Constantine wasn’t. Candid, self-aware, and told with his trademark humour, Perry vividly details his lifelong battle with the disease and what fuelled it despite seemingly having it all.

It was a story of redemption, obsession, acceptance and is proof that even being the villain in someone else’s story, doesn’t mean you have to be the villain of your own. The triplets, along with the one woman who might be able to tame them, will worm their way into your heart and go from terrible to terrific. He must make a perilous journey across Middle-earth to the Cracks of Doom, there to destroy the Ruling Ring of Power - the only thing that prevents the Dark Lord Sauron’s evil dominion. This follows straight on from Triple Threat and ends the story of the Mannford Triplets and the woman all three want. I can just imagine the shock and they all three are as different as night and day but she is terrified and can’t believe they have lied to her. Death Wish is the second book in the Deception duet, and I was eager to dive into it after enjoying Triple Threat.

I was not prepared for the change of pacing or scenery, and although there were certain parts I enjoyed, I’ll admit I was still clutching my metaphorical pearls for a lot of this book too! The Hollow Mountain, host to the pilgrims of Euphrati Keeler, is one of the last redoubts held by the Dark Angels while the unclean host of Typhus lays siege. But when a local property developer shows up dead, 'The Thursday Murder Club' finds themselves in the middle of their first live case.Sully was possessive so did have an issue sharing but easily acquiesced, and was a bit of a follower though the more ‘gentle’ brother. The tougher part is actually winning her back now that she knows they’ve been playing her, but if the triplets know her like like it was their job to do, then winning her over shouldn’t take long. Landry was developing a relationship with the triplets in the first book, but after their betrayal, she had a whole plethora of emotions: shock, anger, curiosity, and for the first time, safe.

I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me.Sparrow and Sully were better behaved in the first book but Scout was still the psychopath we know him to be. As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling - and how their lives would play out from that point on. I loved the gradual story development, but in my opinion, it felt a little bit of a hit and miss in this second half. Landry’s primary goal is to keep her little sister safe, but her father’s connections to the triplets’ enemies, the Constantines, presents a problem that seems dire. The Universal Humanitarian Church is, on the surface, a peaceable organisation that campaigns for a better world. I guess the end of Midnight Dynasty it's when Morelli and Constantine will be all friends, the knots are getting tighter.

Landry ran with younger sister, Della, escaping years of abuse, thinking she was running to a friend’s home, instead she ended up at the triplet’s apartment.
