Fforde never disapoints' Weekly'This is the perfect Mother's Day read' Take a Break'This enjoyable read will appeal to die-hard romantics' Heat Magazine____________Ever since she can remember, Meg has wanted to be a professional cook. The 1960s setting, and his ambivalent feelings towards his father, totally explains Justin's attitude to Meg and her mother, yet it is also quite clear to the reader fairly early on that Justin is also quite smitten by Meg and finds any excuse to visit the hotel. This seemed a very predictable storyline with not much drama, and I felt the France vs Dorset setting for the main character was not believable.

The new chef has sacked everyone and Louise, Meg’s mother, needs her daughter’s help, and she needs it NOW. I first met Meg back a couple of books ago with Katie Fforde asn she started a new life and new friends with Lizzie and Alexandra after meeting at a cookery school. All things considered, One Enchanted Evening by Katie Fforde is an exceptional novel that should be read by all lovers of romance fiction books!

The plot of this novel is excellent and there are twists and turns that keep you guessing along with plenty of adventures with Meg’s wonderful friends.

You can tell that there’s a lot more than first impressions and there were a couple of twists and turns along the way of this book, a few that I managed to guess but others that I didn’t have a clue on which just added that extra layer.Go on treat yourself to a copy of this you won’t regret it, plus if you have a mum who likes this genre, Mother’s Day is coming up. This takes you through the nitty gritty bits of keeping one running in the 1960s when en suite rooms were yet an emerging trend. Not my favourite Katie Fforde book but I loved some of the characters and the descriptions of the hotels, you felt you were there , enchanting and enjoyable listen! He pops around, here and there, and I kinda wish we could get into his head, (I understand why we can't). I thought some of the characters were lovely, such as the elderly and mysterious Ambrosine, and I even enjoyed the stereoptypes too, who I think were written a bit tongue-in-cheek.

As expected, there is a happy ending which ties everything together nicely - it was enjoyable to witness Meg's journey come full circle by the end of the book.

They desperately want to improve the hotel by adding en-suite bathrooms and improving the decoration. She is sure that this could be just the place for guests who would appreciate its charms, if only a few careful improvements could be arranged. I have read a few Katie Fforde novels so was excited to be given the opportunity to read her latest release.
